Want to be a radio presenter?

Thanks to the Augusta Margaret River Shire, Radio Margaret River is able to offer volunteers 6 free training workshops to upskill and enhance their radio training.

The workshops are open to anyone, no experience required – just enthusiasm and commitment.

The sessions will be held over 2 weekends in February. Each workshop is 3 hours long and will cover some of the basic skills required to become a radio presenter.

Freycinet Room at Margaret’s Apartments – 6 Tunbridge St Margaret River

WHAT

6 basic training modules will be delivered by Ian Hill, a certified radio trainer from Perth.

Fri Feb 12th

9:00 – 12:00 Introduction to Writing for radio
1:00 – 4:00 Introduction to Interviewing

Sat Feb 13th

9:00 – 12:00 Programming, creating your radio show

Fri Feb 19th

9:00 – 12:00 Introduction to Presentation
1:00 – 4:00 Audio editing in Reaper (Part 1) and Media law and defamation

Sat Feb 20th

9:00 – 12:00 Audio editing in Reaper (Part 2)

Host your own show

Volunteers who have completed basic training will be well positioned to begin their own live or recorded radio shows and will receive a certificate of completion.
